  • Apple shuts down call center in India: Apple has closed its recently opened call center, Apple Services India Pvt. Ltd. and sacked all the 30 employees even before the center had started rendering its services to the various Apple offices in the US. No specific reasons have been quoted.
  • Patni Computer Systems acquires US Based firm: Patni computer systems has acquired US based ZAiQ Technologies for $4,25,000.
  • NASSCOM predicts Tech exports to grow by 25-28%: The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) said exports for the period 2006-07 might reach 25-28% increase on the back of rising outsourcing demand.
  • TCS joins hands with SAP as the first Asian partner: TCS has associated itself with SAP as the first Asian global partner and will work to develop applications that run on top of the SAP systems. Current partners of SAP include Accenture, CapGemini, HP Consulting. and 9 others.
  • Yahoo launches My Web 2.0 India: Yahoo! India has released My Web 2.0 in India. My Web is a ‘personal and social search engine’ that provides users a simple way to save, organise and tag actual web pages and bookmarks, recall them from any computer, as well as selectively share their personalised My Web with friends and a broader community of users with similar interests.
